How a CompileGate project is born

The four steps we use to move a useful idea from a real problem to an open release.

An abstract image representing the project development process.

Every project follows the same four steps.

1. Idea. Someone spots a real problem. We ask who needs a solution, and whether a simple one already exists.

2. Design. We define the smallest useful version: what it does, what it doesn't, and who it's for.

3. Open development. We build in public. The code is available from the start, and anyone can follow progress, report issues or suggest improvements.

4. Release. We publish a first version, with documentation and a clear license. Then it keeps evolving with its users and contributors.

Our latest example: [project name], which started as [short description of the original need].

Made in the open by CompileGate.
